Michail Stangl aka Opium Hum has been for over 15 years a vital force in the global electronic music underground.

Internationally known as one of Boiler Room’s faces and lead programmers, he’s also one of the curators of the annual CTM Festival in Berlin, on top of having been involved with long-running events such as Leisure System and his own ≠ (not equal) night at Berlin institution Berghain. Having performed in over 40 countries world-wide, including China, Pakistan, Georgia, Peru, Vietnam and Uganda, he’s also a resident São Paulo’s infamous Vampire Haus warehouse raves and his own traveling Hyper Real event series that currently holds a residency at Prague’s Fuchs2 club. Melting bass-heavy club sounds with off-kilter rave bangers, and acidy steppers with industrialized Grime, his sets are an eclectic but skilful amalgamation of his oversized interest in new forms of dance music that are constantly emerging at the fringes of global rave culture.
